Never in my life have I EVER made a visual artwork inspired by a piece of literature…EVER. I’ve made “songs” based on novels before, but never really anything visual. It’s been quite an experience, and saying “I had fun” would be the understatement of the century.
This is the New Girl. A new face in my photography portfolio. My cousin! It was great, I missed it sooooooooooo much. To any fanfic reader familiar with the blog title, the photos below have NOTHING to do with the “New Girl” in the fanfic. That’ll come later.

For geeks, I shot around noon, next to my bedroom window. I <3 white curtains because I get to use them as backgrounds for times like these. My old room had better access to sunlight, but this is not bad at all. The center photo was shot outdoors at around 1pm. Bene and I were literally burning under the hot hot sun!
The Gin with strawberry slurpee is something I haven’t tried yet. This set was inspired by Jasper’s fashion thing off the fanfic Scotch, Gin, and The New Girl. If you have a thing for Gossip Girl, you’ll love this one. Anyway, if you’re one of those people really keen on details, I am sorry to disappoint, but I think the only “Jasper element” on this set is the fedora. In my defense, this set was inspired by the fanfic, and not necessarily a visual adaptation. I promise to make female versions of everyone in the future, and put A LOT MORE detail to it. Expect the flash, chain, toothpick, and oversized belt buckle to appear on our next try.

I’ve always wanted to have a set photographing a woman in a masculine-ish attire, and I finally have! This won’t be the last, I tell you.
All sets were shot under natural light, polished in photoshop, but not overly altered. To say I hate digitally altering my photos would also be my way of saying I can’t digitally manipulate my photos because I don’t know how. Okay, I do…a little bit. But I’m no expert. So to spare myself the frustration, I keep photoshop enhancements minimal.
So I end this entry with three cheers to our fabulous make-up artist master: Benelyn!
The photos won’t be as great without you! Much much love! A million thanks to the ‘rents as well, for accommodating our guests. Much much love to the world!
Cheers!
PS Behind the scenes photos to be posted later. Much much later.
